The American Center of Optics Manufacturing (AmeriCOM) is a public-private partnership with the Department of Defense Industrial Base and Sustainment Office. A healthy manufacturing industrial base and resilient supply chains are essential to the economic strength and national security of the United States of America. AmeriCOM is a national effort to significantly build and sustain that base. Our mission includes (1) the design and execution of workforce training programs, increasing the pipeline of skilled optics technicians, especially from underserved populations, and (2) the development of advanced optic manufacturing technologies, testing equipment, and the specialized materials required to support scalable manufacturing.
AmeriCOM, based in Rochester, New York, is currently seeking to fill an Information Technology (IT) & Administrative Coordinator role. As a relatively new entity, AmeriCOM has a startup culture and is looking for employees who can be comfortable wearing multiple hats. Due to the size of the organization, around 10 employees currently, there are several needs that are part time, but can be combined together into a single full time position. As AmeriCOM grows, the responsibilities associated with this position will grow as well, and this could lead to the potential for growth into a team management role.
The Information Technology & Administrative Coordinator will report to the Director of Engineering.
